So, I really don't want to get rid of Champ (my perfect 92 Black & Tan), but, a variety of factors make me sorta consider a new, warrantied, car.

So, I stopped at the (sorta) local Dealer today, and a rookie (FOX!) salesperson tells me (after consulting with her SMgr) that MSMs are not available from ANY Indiana Dealershop, since none opted for the 'Service Certification' of the specific vehicle.

Plus, "it only has a few more horsepower", so they didn't think it was viable.

Is this plausible?

I sorta have the bug, and going to Orlando, or where ever, for a $19k car would not be an issue...

Jim

Here two in Louisville, Neil Huffman Mazda, 2004 one red and one gray. Someone posted some for $17,995 in dealer section. The dealer in Clarksville IN is a MSM dealer , but has no 2004's left. The dealer you talked to is a liar..big time.

I bought a 2004 red MSM with leather from Neil Huffman last month for $19488 if that helps. I don't think what the Indiana dealer told you was true. Craig & Landreth Mazda located at 1590 Greentree Boulevard, Clarksville, IN currently shows to have (2) 2004 MSM's and (5) 2005 MSM's so that leads me to believe several Indiana dealers have them on their lots.

Whatever system Mazda corporate uses to help their dealers find cars has had the 2004 models removed. I helped buy a 2004 RX-8 for a friend -- the dealer said none were in the area, so I called another dealer and found one. The first guy was honestly surprised and merrily gave me the $4000 dealer cash off invioce (plus a little more) that I asked for.

Sit down with yp.yahoo.com and start calling the dealers. Better hurry -- the 04 MSMs are vanishing quickly. Good luck!

Roush Mazda had a 2004 red MSM a couple of months ago and a dealer south of Indy, I forget the name, had a Grey one about the same time but they're gone. There's still a new 2004 Titanium Grey one in Naperville IL according to CarsDirect.com.

Just slap a Greddy in your 92 and save yourself the hassle of a payment book.

Sorry to tell you, Jim, but you were lied to.

Hubler South (the Official Sponsor of the Indy Miata Club) is the only Indy-area dealer who is currently MazdaSpeed certified. That will change however when the MazdaSpeed6 hits dealer showrooms. Then atleast Tom Wood and Roush will be if not Hubler West and the dealer in Muncie.

If Roush had one earlier in the year, it was a trade in or something. They didn't get it through official Mazda channels.

I haven't been down to Hubler South in a little while, but they still had a few last time I was there and their website list 4 still there (all '05's).

Ben
