Effective leaders can identify mistakes, but they also understand the power of acknowledging great effort. It is proven that consistent hard work many times is the foundation for achieving great results.Unfortunately, it is not so for many managers who in the last 6 months has seen no need to offer positive reinforcement (like well done, good job, I love it etc) to their teams. But in that same period, they have probably pointed out errors at least 4 times a day, potentially hundreds of times in total. Some managers even think telling their subordinates well done would make them drop in rising performance. That's an interesting school of thought. However, research shows that while it can be effective in some regards, it doesn't necessarily lead to long-term positive changes or increased motivation. This is not an excuse to encourage people who are consistently not doing their jobs well, however it is a call to look on the otherside of intentional appreciation to your HiPo subordinates as a powerful tool for improving their performance overtime, (except you don't have overtime 😂) We are all growing daily at what we do, and a little well done and thank you for people's effort only affirm that they are seen and it further reinforce in them the need to do better. As line managers this is one act we all must be very intentional about. Rooting for you! PO 🕊#manager #potential #leader #highpotential #employee #workplace #appreciation #wef #hr #talent

I recently saw a video about a Boss saying he cannot hire a workaholic, at the same time I have heard some say to become a high-flyer and an achieving manager in the workplace, you cannot but be a workaholic. A few weeks ago, in my workplace Clan, we invited one of our major health partners Reliance Health to take us on the concept of achieving work-life balance and it was very insightful, the Dr. who facilitated helped us see the beauty of productivity emanating from a place of well-being and balanced mind. But the question is, in this era of flexible work culture, is Work-life balance really achievable?PS: See the video I was referring to below. I do not own credit for it.Kindly share your opinion in the comment box. Looking to read from you.PO#clan #finance #health #worklifebalance #worklife #manager #workplace #hr #employee #clanafrica #fintech #investor

The Power of Open Communication for a Healthier Work Life 🕊Many people experience burnout due to work #stress, and sometimes point fingers at managers or employers. But what if the key to reducing stress lies in our own communication skills? Often, employees struggling with work overwhelm stay silent. They might not feel comfortable talking to their manager, #HR, or even their employer. But remember, your #manager isn't a mind reader! While good managers should be perceptive in today's work environment, clear communication is still highly essential, and a valuable skill to learn.Interestingly, #Organizations like Clan, Google, Amazon, etc offer various support systems like rest periods, leave policies, #employee assistance programs (EAPs), but if you don't speak up, you might miss out on these benefits. For some whose mental stress is related to financial limitations, why not check in with your HR manager if you're entired to a salary advance. It could be an option!Open #communication is a powerful tool. Whether you're stressed about workload, finances, or family issues, talking to the right people can make a big difference. It can help you access resources, find solutions, and ultimately, improve your mental well-being. As you navigate the rest of the year, prioritize open communication. Speak up for yourself! The goal is to make it a win-win for your #mentalhealth and your work life.PO

Let's discuss #EmbracingChange in the Workplace 🕊As we navigate our #careers, it's easy to fall into comfortable routines. However, the most fulfilling professional journeys are often paved with growth and adaptation, even when they are no so interesting.Today's #dynamic work environment thrives on collaboration, continuous learning, and a willingness to embrace change. Think of it like this: imagine a skilled musician joining a new band with a different style or approach. To create beautiful music together, they'll need to adapt and learn from each other. The ability to embrace change isn't just about the company or industry – it's about #unlocking your hidden personal potential, and to do so thrivingly in a changing landscape, you should;- Embrace a growth #mindset, believing in your ability to learn and develop new skills. - Seek out #learning opportunities, taking advantage of training resources, workshops, or online courses to stay ahead of the curve.- Be #open to new ideas, greeting challenges with a curious and out-of-the-box mind and a willingness to explore different perspectives.Lastly, #Communicate openly, sharing your thoughts and concerns during any change process in a clear and strategic manner. Your voice matter too!Change can be painfully daunting, but it also presents us exciting possibilities for growth. By adopting the above principles, you can become a more valuable and adaptable professional, ready to tackle any challenge that comes your way.I'll be sharing more resources on navigating #change soon. In the meantime, remember - the most successful people are lifelong learners who embrace new experiences with open arms. Let's keep growing together! Now what will you do differently? PO

When many hear the words "new week," it means different things to them. I'm sure it holds a special meaning for you as well, right? But what does it mean to me?The phrase "new week" feels like a new season or a new dispensation, unlocking fresh #possibilities to anyone. The previous week may or may not have gone as expected, but the new week offers another chance to create something beautiful. If you ask me about #failure, I'd tell you what I believe, and it is that no one is a failure. You may have failed at something but there's always another opportunity to prove your abilities and #capabilities. As we embark on this new week, let's remember, even though some lost #opportunities may not be regained, the new week is a gift for us all to create new ones. So, get out there and create the week you want to see! 💪🏿Cheers! PO

I’m #hiring for the role of a Technical Assistant to a Senior Executive. One of the interesting things I like about this role is that it affords holder the leverage to learn how to lead and manage people and resources in a fast paced Organization like Clan, asides the fact that they sometimes like behaving like Jagaban when the Boss gives them small supervisory function 🤣 (Who can relate? Share your experience with any EA or TA in the comment section) Know anyone who might be interested in the role? Kindly share link with them or comment their name so they can get a chance to see the opportunity. #Clan #FinTech #Executive
